The Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) is excited to announce that the Restoration Industry Association Inc. (RIA) Australasia has signed on to be RESP-FIT Partner.
RESP-FIT is Australia’s Respirator Fit Testing training and accreditation program. A program that is a vital part of any workplace that relies on respiratory protection to keep workers safe.
RIA is a non-profit professional trade association for the restoration industry. The association is dedicated to providing leadership, knowledge, training, events, support and advocacy for the restoration industry. Owen Boak, Current President said that ”We have over 140 member companies representing several thousand staff members who rely on respiratory protection to protect them due to the many hazardous materials that we face in our working environments. It is really important to us that our members understand what they need to do to have confidence that they can, and will, be protected when wearing respirators and the importance of fit testing. This partnership with RESP-FIT will allow information sharing to our members through planned webinars and in-person events”
RESP-FIT partners are like-minded associations and organisations that are committed to promoting the proper use of respirators through the use of respiratory protection programs and fit testing by competent RESP-FIT accredited fit testers. The RIA Inc. Australasia are committed to doing this for its members.
